"In an indie atmosphere of a myriad of singer-songwriter acts, Winston attempts to differ from the rest by providing the classic 70’s singer-songwriter vibe to a contemporary culture sorely in need of his kind of heartfelt and emotional musical storytelling.”

My oldest daughter, Brooks, gave birth to a premature baby in Hawaii resulting in months of of Neo-natal ICU care and many sleepless nights wondering if the boy would survive. One night on the balcony of my “concrete jungle” hotel in Waikiki, I heard laughter from a party down below and felt the Universe was giving me a sign that the tide was about to turn. The experience resulted in the song "Maybe It's for James", a string enhanced ballad that explores those early dark days and challenges and ultimately the joy of him prevailing and getting ready to turn five years old. It’s three years gone by, that boys amazing As he fills our hearts with joy Now his smile it comes easy, and we all know why And how in the world we got here Now the sky’s lightening up like the fourth of July And the sounds swell up from below There’s a party down there and were wondering why Maybe it’s for James

Stephen Winston EPK for the Album UNRESOLVED

This is the new album that I have been working on for the last few years. I have had some significant life changing experiences in that period including losing both my parents, being blessed with four grandchildren ( three premature) and another soul searching event which will change my life forever. Suffice to say, many of the songs are inspired by some of these events. I worked closely with Steve Cooper, a fantastic arranger and musician, on the orchestration for the album. Michael Pfeifer produced, engineered and played guitar on many of the tracks. As usual he was at the center of the creative process. I used my Colorado session musicians and some new talent as well. It is an eclectic mix of songs that range from pop ballads to Bluegrass/Country inspired melodies.
